Spec guide for deadline-driven projects
For utility-scale, 600 W+ bifacial N-type modules are common. Check the low-temperature VOC correction—if your string sizing is tight, a cold morning can trip the inverter. - Local pickup or will-call. Freight damage on a 10-module order is a pain (ugh, again).

For residential, 400–450 W modules are usually the sweet spot. Look at dimensions, weight, frame thickness, and warranty terms. If you're using microinverters, confirm the module's maximum power current and connector type. What matters most
- System voltage and string sizing. Storage inverters may have different MPPT windows than standard string inverters.
- Warranty coordination. Who covers the module, the inverter, and the battery if performance drops?
- Communication and monitoring. Make sure the monitoring platform can handle both PV and storage data.
- Fire safety and code compliance. Check local rules for rapid shutdown and battery placement.
Spec guide for integrated systems
Start with the inverter's datasheet, then choose the module. Don't choose the module first and force the inverter to fit. For JinkoSolar's integrated storage offerings, ask your distributor for compatibility matrices and regional certifications. As of January 2025, verify all certifications at JinkoSolar's official site and with your local authority having jurisdiction.
The counterintuitive advice
The numbers said go with the cheaper module and a separate battery supplier. My gut said stick with one ecosystem. I went with my gut. If your answers point to speed and certainty, you're in Scenario 2 or 4. If they point to inventory turns, you're in Scenario 1. If they point to flexibility and small quantities, you're in Scenario 3.
And no matter which scenario you're in, ask for the landed cost breakdown. I've learned to ask "what's NOT included" before "what's the price." The vendor who lists all fees upfront—even if the total looks higher—usually costs less in the end. Transparent pricing isn't about being the cheapest. It's about making the total number visible before you commit.
That's the part most spec guides skip. Specs tell you what the module can do. Transparency tells you what the order will actually cost.
